The following are details specific to Analysis Type: Item Response Theory.
Editing Test Settings for an Item Response Theory Template
Users with Super Admin or PAR Admin role for the program selected in Global Navigation will be able to edit Test Settings for an Item Response Theory Template.
Each Item Response Theory analysis type (Calibration, TBLT & Equating) is optional, but at least one type needs to be selected in the template in order to apply Test Settings.
To open an analysis template in Edit mode do one of the following:
- Select Edit under the Actions column when viewing the list of tests
- A list of all approved and enabled Item Response Theory templates applied to the selected test will display in the Analysis Settings tab under "Item Response Theory"
- Select a template
- Select the Test Name hyperlink
- A list of all approved and enabled Item Response Theory templates applied to the selected test will display in the Analysis Settings tab under "Item Response Theory"
- Select a template
- The template will open in view-mode (if nothing has been configured yet for the template, "No Values Selected" will display in the table)
- Select the Edit button in the upper right hand corner

The following analysis types listed in #1 - #3 below will display based on what was selected in the template:
- All are collapsible
1. Calibration
- If the analysis template selected is configured with Produce Calibration = Yes, the following will be displayed in Test Settings under Calibration
- LIC(s) - a multi-select drop down that lists all LICs that have been configured for the selected test
- the list of LICs is displayed in alphabetical order.
- a Select All button is available to select all LICs
- LIC(s) - a multi-select drop down that lists all LICs that have been configured for the selected test

2. TBLT
- If the analysis template selected is configured with Produce TBLT = Yes
- If Source of Parameters for Common Items = Database
- The following will be displayed in Test Settings under TBLT
- Common Items LIC(s) - a multi-select drop down that lists all LICs that have been configured for the selected test
- the list of LICs is displayed in alphabetical order.
- a Select All button is available to select all LICs
- Common Items LIC(s) - a multi-select drop down that lists all LICs that have been configured for the selected test
- The following will be displayed in Test Settings under TBLT
- If Source of Parameters for Common Items = Parameters from previous request
- No LIC selection is required, and the following will be displayed in Test Settings under TBLT
- "No LIC selection required for TBLT"
- The user will be prompted to assign a Request ID in Request Details after a request is generated. See Request Details - Analysis Options - IRT - TBLT for more information.
- No LIC selection is required, and the following will be displayed in Test Settings under TBLT
- If Source of Parameters for Common Items = Database
- If an analysis template is producing both Calibration and TBLT
- Source of Parameters for the New Form is 'Calibration within Template'.
- The LIC(s) selected for Calibration will be inherited by the TBLT analysis, and nothing needs to be selected in Test Settings for the new form.
- If an analysis template is producing TBLT but no Calibration
- Source of Parameters for the New Form is 'Calibration from previous request'
- Nothing needs to be selected in Test Settings for the new form.
- The user will be prompted to assign a Request ID in Request Details after a request is generated. See Request Details - Analysis Options - IRT - TBLT for more information.

3. Equating
- If the analysis template selected is configured with Produce Equating = Yes, the following will be displayed in Test Settings under Equating:
- Score - a single-select drop down that lists all scores that have been configured for the selected test.
- the list of scores is displayed in alphabetical order by Score Name
- LIC(s) - a multi-select drop down that lists all LICs that have been configured for the selected test
- the list of LICs is displayed in alphabetical order.
- a Select All button is available to select all LICs

- Reference Form Parameters
- Within an Equating, you're required to provide a request to use for reference form parameters
- Select 'Assign' to open a modal where you'll select a request to use.

- Enter a valid request number and select Search
- Requests displayed are limited to PARcore approved requests, Legacy requests, or imported requests with statistical model = MIRT, PARSCALE, TRANCOMP, or IMPORTSTAT
- A list of request/analysis sequence numbers will display including the following context information:
- Request ID is the combination of program, request number, and analysis sequence number
- Admin
- Test
- Form
- Description
- Statistical Model
- Origination
- Run Date

- Select the desired sequence and click Apply
- You will be returned to Edit Test Settings, with your selection now being displayed.
- An Edit button is now enabled if you need to edit your selection in the future.
- If Cancel is selected, you will not associate any reference parameters and you will be returned to Edit Test Settings.

- Reference Form Conversion (optional)
- Within an Equating, you're able to use a reference form conversion to be used for raw-scale equating purposes.
- Select 'Assign' to open a modal where you'll select a request to use.

- Enter a valid request number and select Search
- Requests displayed are limited to PARcore approved requests, Legacy requests, or imported requests with statistical model = CUSFDS, MANEQRES, IMPRTEQRES, IRTEQUATE, IRTPEQUATE, or IRTEQ8XCAT
- A list of request/analysis sequence numbers will display including the following context information:
- Request ID is the combination of program, request number, and analysis sequence number
- Admin
- Test
- Form
- Description
- Statistical Model
- Origination
- Run Date

- Select the desired sequence
- If a preview of the selected conversion is available it will display in the right-hand pane.
- Select Apply
- You will be returned to Edit Test Settings, with your selection now being displayed.
- An Edit button is now enabled if you need to edit your selection in the future.
- A Remove button is now enabled if you need to remove the selection.
- If Cancel is selected, you will not associate any conversion and you will be returned to Edit Test Settings.

4. Save, Cancel, and Unsaved Changes
When you've finished entering all required information, and 'Save' is selected, a banner will display at the top of the screen:

Selecting 'Cancel' will result in the following:
- If no selections were made, you'll be returned to the list of tests under Test Settings
- If selections were made but not saved, selecting 'Cancel' or anywhere else on the screen will display a warning as seen below:

- Selecting 'Continue' will discard all selections and return you back to the list of tests under Test Settings.
- Selecting 'Cancel' will return you back to edit mode for the template where you can save or continue making selections.
While in Edit mode you can navigate to other templates while remaining in Edit mode, or select the breadcrumb 'Test Settings' to return to the list of tests for the selected program.

Viewing Test Settings for an Item Response Theory Template
All PAR users with access to the program selected in Global Navigation will be able to view Test Settings for an Item Response Theory template.
To open an analysis template in view mode:
- Select the Test Name hyperlink

- A list of all approved and enabled Item Response Theory templates applied to the selected test will display in the Analysis Settings tab under "Item Response Theory"
- Select a template
- The template will open in view-mode (if nothing has been configured yet for the template, "No Values Selected" will display in the table)
**If you have a PAR Admin role for the selected program, or a Super Admin role, an Edit button will display in the upper right-hand corner.

One to three tables are displayed (depending on the analysis selected in the analysis template):
1. Calibration (if applicable)
- A single column table displaying the selections in the same order as they were selected while editing test settings for the template:
- LIC(s)

2. TBLT (if applicable)
- If Common Items selected from Database
- A single column table displaying the selections in the same order as they were selected while editing test settings for the template:
- LIC(s)
- A single column table displaying the selections in the same order as they were selected while editing test settings for the template:
- If Common Items selected from previous request
- No LIC selection required message will display

3. Equating (if applicable)
- Table displaying the selections in the same order as they were selected while editing test settings for the template:
- Score
- LIC(s)
- Reference Form Parameters Req ID
- Reference Form Conversion Req ID (if applicable)

While in View mode you can navigate to other templates, or select the breadcrumb 'Test Settings' to return to the list of tests for the selected program.
